The team behind ** Kaiju No. 8 the Game**, a new smartphone and PC game inspired by the popular Kaiju No. 8 manga and anime, has announced a new character — Sagan Shinomiya.

Who is Sagan Shinomiya?
Sagan leads CLOZER, a special unit tasked with investigating the Kaiju Dimensional Gates.
The game is set to launch on iOS, Android, and PC via Steam, with a release date of August 31.

Background and Future Releases
The Kaiju No. 8 game was first announced in June 2024. The anime’s second season will debut in July 2025 and will be streamed worldwide on Crunchyroll.
Additionally, a compilation film titled Kaiju No. 8: Mission Recon will be released in theaters across North America in April 2025, providing fans a cinematic recap of the first season. The screenings will feature both Japanese audio with English subtitles and English dubbing.
About the Kaiju No. 8 Anime
The anime premiered in April 2024 on TV Tokyo, with 12 episodes. Crunchyroll streamed it with both subtitles and an English dub. During the airing, the show was also broadcast live on X (formerly Twitter), syncing with Japan's broadcast.
Manga Releases
The manga Monster #8, known as Kaiju No. 8 in Japan, is available in English through Viz Media (digital and physical) and Shueisha’s MANGA Plus (digital). The story follows a man who, after unexpectedly becoming a monster, strives to regain his human life and fulfill his childhood dreams.
The manga began serialization in July 2020 on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ platform.
