Koei Tecmo Announces Leadership Changes
Current President/CEO Yoichi Erikawa to Serve as Representative Director/Chairman
Koei Tecmo has made significant changes to its leadership team, as announced on Monday. The company has promoted Hisashi Koinuma, the current Representative Director and Executive Vice President of Koei Tecmo Holdings, to the position of Representative Director, President, and CEO.
Transition of Roles
Current President and CEO Yoichi Erikawa will transition to the role of Representative Director and Chairman, succeeding Keiko Erikawa, who will become Director and Chairman Emeritus. These changes are set to take effect in June.
Key Changes in Leadership
- Hisashi Koinuma: Representative Director, President, and CEO
- Yoichi Erikawa: Representative Director and Chairman
- Keiko Erikawa: Director and Chairman Emeritus
Starting in the 2025 fiscal year, the President will be the highest officer responsible for executing business, while the Chairman will oversee management supervision as the chair of the board of directors.
Additional Appointments
In further developments:
- Mei Erikawa will become Managing Director and CSuO of Koei Tecmo Holdings as of April 1.
- Kenjiro Asano will take on the role of Senior Executive Officer, CFO, and General Manager of the Business Administration Division.
- Shino Uenuma will be appointed as a Director, and Chihiro Kawai will join as an Audit and Supervisory Board Member in June.
Retirements:
Director Yosuke Hayashi and Audit and Supervisory Board Member Satoru Morishima will retire from their positions.
Koei Tecmo Games Leadership
Koinuma will also serve as Representative Director, President, CEO, and COO of Koei Tecmo Games starting April 1. Other appointments include:
- Yukinori Ito: Senior Executive Officer and Entertainment Division General Manager
- Keisuke Sawada: Executive Officer and Department Manager, Head of Kou Shibusawa titles
Retirements at Koei Tecmo Games:
- Keiko Erikawa: Director and Chairman Emeritus
- Yoichi Erikawa: Representative Director, Chairman, and CEO
- Kenjiro Asano: Director
- Yasuharu Kakihara: Advisor
Both Erikawas will also retire from their roles at Koei Tecmo Wave.
Formation of New Subsidiary
Koei Tecmo Games will establish a new subsidiary, Koei Tecmo Corporate Finance Co. Ltd., responsible for investment functions, effective April 1. Keiko Erikawa will serve as the Representative Director and President of this subsidiary, with Kenjiro Asano, Mei Erikawa, Tomotoshi Nishimura, and Hiroshi Kobayashi as Directors. Seinosuke Fukui and Masaki Kimura will be Audit and Supervisory Board Members.
Background on Hisashi Koinuma
Koinuma has been with Koei Tecmo since April 2015, initially serving as Representative Director and COO of Koei Tecmo Games. He became Executive Vice President in April 2018 and has been instrumental in producing popular titles such as:
- Attack on Titan
- Attack on Titan 2
- Berserk and the Band of the Hawk
- NIOH
- Hyrule Warriors
