A Film That Captures Youth and Music
Originally released in Japan in 2005, Linda Linda Linda tells the story of an all-girls high school rock band. With just three days before their school festival, they need to find a new lead vocalist — a challenge that sparks friendship, growth, and a love for music.
The film was previously released on DVD by Viz Pictures in 2007. It features a talented cast including:
- Bae Doona (The Host, Broker)
- Aki Maeda (Battle Royale)
- Yu Kashii (Death Note)
- Shiori Sekine (member of the band Base Ball Bear)
Music That Defines the Film
Linda Linda Linda is renowned for its soundtrack, which includes original tracks composed by James Iha of The Smashing Pumpkins, covers of songs by The Blue Hearts, and tracks from the band Base Ball Bear. The film's music has even inspired the name of the band The Linda Lindas.
