Series Overview
The first season of Cat's Eyes premiered on TF1 and TF1+ on November 11, followed by its debut on Amazon Prime Video on December 18. The series consists of eight episodes, each lasting 52 minutes, and is set in modern-day 2023. Filming for the second season began in fall 2023.
According to a report in Le Parisien, the show is directed by Alexandre Laurent and produced by Big Band Story in collaboration with TF1. The series has a talented writing team, including Michel Catz, Justine Kim-Gautier, and others. International distribution is managed by Newen Connect of the TF1 Group.
A Captivating Storyline
The show follows the adventures of the three Chamade sisters as they engage in daring heists in Paris. The sisters, Alexia, Tam, and Sylia, are reunited in the City of Light after years apart. Their father's artwork mysteriously resurfaces at an exhibition at the Eiffel Tower, prompting the sisters to risk everything to uncover the truth behind their father's tragic fate.
TF1 describes the plot:
"The series traces the story of “Cat's Eyes” back to its roots, and follows the adventures of the three Chamade sisters as they improvise a series of daring heists around the French capital's most iconic (and security-conscious) monuments."
As they navigate their double lives and personal connections, including a twist involving the police commissioner chasing them, viewers can expect a thrilling mix of action, romance, and comedy.
An Acclaimed Franchise
Originally published from 1981 to 1985, Hōjō's manga centered on the lives of three sisters who are skilled art thieves by night. The franchise has inspired two television anime seasons and various adaptations over the years, including a recent anime crossover with Lupin III.
Additionally, Disney is currently producing a new anime adaptation of Cat's Eyes, planned for release on Disney+ in 2025.
For those interested in exploring the original manga, Coamix is releasing it in English, ensuring that this classic continues to reach new audiences.
