Physical Editions of Macross: Shooting Insight Launching Soon

Red Art Games has announced that they will release physical copies of Bushiroad's Macross: Shooting Insight for multiple consoles, with a release date set for June 26.

Which Versions Are Coming?

• Switch
• PlayStation 5
• PlayStation 4

Note: The physical PS4 edition will only be available in Europe, while the physical versions for Switch and PS5 will be available in both Europe and North America.

Digital Release & Delays

Red Art Games initially released the game digitally in North America and Europe on February 7, delayed from the original December 6, 2023, schedule. The delay was announced on January 30, 2025, to ensure better quality.

In addition to the standard version, the game offers special editions:

• Deluxe Edition: Includes an artbook and acrylic stand
• Special Edition: Features a steelcase, soundtrack, double-sided poster, and five coins

Japanese Release

The game launched in Japan for PS5, PS4, and Switch in March 2024 after a delay to improve quality. The PC version via Steam was also delayed to match this schedule.

Development Timeline

• Originally scheduled for release by the end of 2023
• Delayed first to January 2024, then further shifted
• Final digital launch in February 2025
• Physical editions announced for June 26, 2025

About the Game

Bushiroad describes Macross: Shooting Insight as a "new type of scrolling shoot 'em up". It's part of Bushiroad's new game label, which also integrates their mobile division, Bushimo.

The game was delayed multiple times to improve quality and was initially planned for a global simultaneous launch.

Company Background

Bushiroad Games launched this project after acquiring a controlling stake in Frontwing Lab (the parent company of Frontwing) in March 2021.
