Yama Wayama's "Let's Go Karaoke!" and "Captivated, by You" Receive Back-to-Back TV Anime Premieres
Both anime adaptations will air in succession, sharing the same timeslot.
Premiere Dates Announced
The staff behind the upcoming television anime for Yama Wayama's acclaimed manga, Let's Go Karaoke! and Captivated, by You, revealed their official debut dates:
- Let's Go Karaoke! (カラオケ行こ！) will premiere on July 24, 2025.
- Captivated, by You (夢中さ、きみに。) is set to debut on August 21, 2025.
Although both projects were originally announced to air "at the same time," the meaning has now been clarified: they will be broadcast consecutively in the same timeslot.
Broadcast Details
- Let's Go Karaoke! will air first on TV Tokyo on July 24 at 10:30 p.m., followed by broadcasts on:
- BS11
- Kansai TV
- Nagoya TV
- Hokkaido Broadcasting (HBC)
- TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting
- Both anime will occupy consecutive slots on these channels.

Nothing worries Satomi Oka more than the upcoming final choir competition of his middle school career—until he is accosted by a stranger demanding, "Let's go karaoke!" As a yakuza, Kyouji Narita doesn't scare easily, but his boss has organized a karaoke contest where the loser must endure a tattoo from the boss himself. Oka, used to choir rehearsals, finds himself coaching a gangster in one-on-one karaoke sessions!

Hayashi's honest nature attracts classmates and strangers alike as he counts stairs, photographs street signs, and dries sweet potatoes at school. In a world pressured by conformity, Hayashi is unapologetically himself, while Nikaidou carefully maintains a gloomy image to keep others away. As rumors swirl about Nikaidou, one student sees past the facade and begins to reveal the person inside.
Manga Origins and Recognition
- Let's Go Karaoke! was first released as a dōjin (self-published work) in 2019 and published by Kadokawa in September 2020. The manga secured third place in the 14th Manga Taisho awards (2021). It also inspired a live-action film that premiered in January 2024 after a delay.
- Captivated, by You debuted as a dōjin publication in February 2019. The single volume compiles Wayama's "Ushiro no Nikaidō" boys-love manga strips, with an added sequel.
Yama Wayama is also the creator of the manga Onna no Sono no Hoshi.
