Manga Creator Masakuni Igarashi's New Series Set to Debut
In a thrilling announcement, NBC Universal revealed on Friday that Tune In to the Midnight Heart (Mayonaka Heart Tune), created by Masakuni Igarashi, will be adapted into a television anime series, scheduled to premiere in 2026.

Story Overview

The manga is currently being published digitally in English by Kodansha's K MANGA service. Here’s a brief synopsis of the story:

When Arisu Yamabuki was all alone in bed at night, he found comfort in the voice of a radio host known as “Apollo.” However, one day, she abruptly stopped broadcasting. Years later, as a second-year high school student, Arisu embarks on a quest to find Apollo, driven by a message he wants to share. Despite not knowing her appearance or real name, he discovers leads in his school's broadcasting club, where he meets four aspiring girls eager to make their voices heard. Who is Apollo, and what will become of their dreams?

Manga Release Details

Igarashi launched the manga in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine in September 2023, with the seventh volume set to ship on January 17. Kodansha USA Publishing has licensed the manga and plans to release the first volume in English in 2025.

Igarashi's Previous Works

Masakuni Igarashi is also known for his earlier work, Senryū Girl, which debuted in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in October 2016 and concluded in April 2020. This series inspired a television anime that premiered in April 2019, licensed by Sentai Filmworks and streamed on HIDIVE and Crunchyroll.

Additionally, Igarashi's Detectives These Days Are Crazy! is set to receive its own anime adaptation this year, having launched in Kadokawa's Dengeki Maoh magazine in April 2016. One Peace Books will release the manga in English starting April 28.
