McDonald's Japan has launched a new set of commercials as part of its "Let's smile tomorrow, then and now" campaign. These ads feature beloved scenes from classic 1980s anime, bringing a wave of nostalgia to fans.

The commercials showcase scenes from:

Maison Ikkoku
The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love?
Kimagure Orange Road

Additionally, they revive Japan's famous 1980s Coca-Cola jingle, "I feel Coke," originally performed by Daisuke Inoue.

In a comment to Comic Natalie, Rumiko Takahashi, creator of Maison Ikkoku, expressed her excitement:*

Shōji Kawamori, co-creator and director of the Macross franchise, also shared his thoughts:*

"Honestly, I am very happy and grateful that McDonald's chose the Do You Remember Love? movie among many '80s anime. I’m glad I drew a scene of Minmay and others eating hamburgers."
