Story Overview
J-Novel Club is releasing both the original novels and manga adaptation in English. Here’s a quick summary:
Ryo is thrilled to be reincarnated into the fantastical world of Phi, where he hopes for a peaceful life learning water magic. But things quickly take a turn—he finds himself fighting deadly monsters and surviving in wild lands. Despite the chaos, Ryo’s optimism, cleverness, and a hidden "Eternal Youth" trait help him push forward.
Twenty years pass in the blink of an eye, and each encounter brings him closer to mastering human magic. A fateful meeting then thrusts him into the heart of history, changing his life forever.
Thus begins the adventures of the strongest water magician who prefers to take things at his own pace!
Kubō started serializing the story on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in April 2020, and the series is still ongoing. The story was published in print by TO Books in March 2021, with illustrations by Nokito.
A manga adaptation by Bokutengō launched on TO Books’ Comic Corona website in September 2021. Additionally, Taku is creating a separate manga for children under TO Books’ TO Junior Bunko label.
