Sony's recent State of Play livestream unveiled a new gameplay trailer for Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater (Δ is pronounced "Delta"), Konami's highly anticipated remake of the iconic Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. A standout announcement was the return of the beloved “Snake vs Monkey” mini game, which features characters from the popular Ape Escape series.

A Look Back at the Legacy

The original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, directed by Hideo Kojima, launched on the PlayStation 2 in November 2004.
The title has since received multiple remasters and ports, appearing on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation Vita, and even got a Nintendo 3DS version in March 2011.

About the Series

Most games in the Metal Gear Solid franchise follow Solid Snake, a special forces operative entangled in global conspiracies. The first game, which debuted in 1998 on the PlayStation, tasked players with stopping a terrorist group named Foxhound, who seized an Alaskan nuclear facility.
