About the Story
The anime's official English website describes the plot:
Superhuman Chiharu and cyborg Makina get arrested for breaking space traffic laws. They end up cleaning the interplanetary train, the Milky☆Subway, as community service. What should have been a simple job turns into chaos when the train suddenly takes off into deep space! The crew must navigate this unpredictable space adventure powered by pure momentum.
Behind the Scenes
Kameyama is once again directing, writing, and producing the sequel, handling most of the animation and character design himself. Momoko Terasawa voices Chiharu, and Anna Nagase voices Makina.
The original Milky☆Highway short was released in 2022 as Kameyama's graduation project from Kadokawa's Vantan Game Academy. The short has garnered over 6.75 million views, including the English-subtitled version.
