French animation powerhouse ZAG Entertainment, known for the animated hit Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, will open a new studio in Japan this July named ZAG Japan.
Leadership and Vision
Kanji Kazahaya has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer. Kazahaya previously served for 15 years in executive roles at Toei Animation, including director of international business.
In a statement, Kazahaya highlighted the "groundbreaking global success of Miraculous" and expressed excitement about combining Western animation with the spirit of Japanese manga and anime.
Creative Partnerships
ZAG Japan will collaborate with Japanese talent agency Highway Star. In a notable move:
Hironobu Kageyama, a member of JAM Project and known for iconic anime themes from Dragon Ball Z, One-Punch Man, and Kamen Rider SD, is set to perform theme songs for new ZAG Japan productions.

Jeremy Zag, founder of ZAG Entertainment, stated that the new studio will allow the company to "explore the emotional depth and artistic beauty of Japanese storytelling by developing manga, anime series, and traditional animation films."
