North American Release Announced for Gundam: Urðr Hunt
Exciting news for Gundam fans! Bandai Namco Filmworks revealed during its San Diego Comic-Con International panel that a new standalone anime, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans – Urðr Hunt, will be released in theaters in Japan this October, with a North American release planned.

What is Gundam: Urðr Hunt?
This new anime is a spinoff from the popular Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans series. Titled Urðr-Hunt, it will be shown in theaters and is also known as "Path of the Little Challenger" in its standalone edition.
The project was first announced in 2019 and debuted within the Kidō Senshi Gundam: Tekketsu no Orphans: Urðr-Hunt app, launched in November 2022. This app combines anime and gaming elements, bringing together the original series and the Urðr-Hunt spinoff.
Note: The app service ended in January 2024, with the final episode of Urðr-Hunt released in October 2023.
A Brief History of Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans
- The first season aired in 2015.
- The second season followed in 2016.
- Both seasons were streamed by platforms like Daisuki, Gundam.info, and Hulu.
- An English dub was available on Crunchyroll and aired on Toonami starting in 2016.
Manga and Additional Content
The Gundam: Tekketsu no Orphans Gekkō manga, created by Hajime Kamoshida, Dango, and Hirosuke Terama, concluded in March 2018 in Kadokawa's Gundam Ace magazine.
