Exciting News: 'Solo Leveling' Gets a New Game and More!
Crunchyroll announced at its panel during Anime Expo that Netmarble is developing a new 'Solo Leveling' Karma game for PC and mobile devices. The teaser video hints that the game will explore a story set during a specific gap in the webtoon series — a part not yet covered in the anime.
'Solo Leveling' Anime and Webtoon Highlights
The first season of the 'Solo Leveling' anime, based on the webtoon by Chugong and DUBU (REDICE Studio), debuted in Japan in January 2024.
Crunchyroll also added the English dub of the anime in the same month.
A compilation film, 'Solo Leveling -ReAwakening-', which includes a preview of the upcoming second season, was screened in Japan from November 29 to December 12.
The film was also shown in select theaters in the U.S. and Canada on December 6, thanks to Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures.
Second Season and Future Releases
The second season of the anime debuted on January 4.
Crunchyroll streamed both the new episodes and the English dub.
Fans can look forward to more content, as the series continues to expand.
Webtoon and Its Global Reach
The webtoon adaptation of Chugong's novel series, illustrated by DUBU, launched on WEBTOON in March 2018 and concluded in December 2021.
Yen Press publishes the manhwa and original novel series in English.
Digital releases are available on platforms like Tapas.
The webtoon is also published in Japanese by Kadokawa under the title Ore Dake Level-Up na Ken (I'm the Only One Who Has Leveled Up).
Additionally, a live-action Korean adaptation is in the works.
Gaming Developments
In May 2024, Netmarble launched the 'Solo Leveling: Arise' role-playing game for Android, iOS, and Windows.
An upgraded version, 'ARISE OVERDRIVE', is set to release for Xbox Series X/S and Xbox Cloud in 2026.
The game will also be available on PC via Steam this fall.
