Nikki Asada to Launch New Manga: Yawahada ni Shunrai

Asada is set to unveil her latest work, Yawahada ni Shunrai (Spring Thunder on Soft Skin), in the upcoming April issue of Kodansha's Be Love magazine, hitting shelves on April 1.

A Glimpse into the Story

Set against the backdrop of the Sengoku era, this new manga follows a strikingly beautiful shinobi who embarks on a daring mission: to seduce the dragon god shrine maiden of a rival nation for just one night. The stakes are high, as the fate of an entire country hangs in the balance.

Asada's Recent Works

Nikki Asada is no stranger to the manga scene. Her previous series, Tsukuyomi-kun no Kindan Oyashoku (Mr. Tsukuyomi's Forbidden Midnight Snack), concluded with its sixth volume on October 11. This series, which began serialization in Be Love in December 2021, even inspired a live-action adaptation in 2023.

Notable Past Titles

• The Prince's Romance Gambit (Ōji ga Watashi wo Akiramenai!) ended in July 2022 after a successful run that began in February 2015.
• The Springtime of My Life Began with You (Kimi to Aoi Haru no Hajimari) wrapped up in July 2021, having started in July 2019.

Asada is also recognized for her role as the novel illustrator and original character designer for the acclaimed Sound! Euphonium franchise.
