Ninja Kamui Anime Officially Renewed for Two More Seasons

**Adult Swim Announces 'Ninja Kamui' Season Two: Red Vendetta**
At the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on Thursday, Adult Swim officially announced that the anime series **Ninja Kamui** will receive two additional seasons from Sola Entertainment. The first of these, titled **Ninja Kamui Season Two: Red Vendetta**, will follow Higan as he uncovers a new conspiracy of cataclysmic proportions.

Sola Entertainment had previously posted a press release for the Ninja Kamui game last June, indicating the production of a second season for the anime. However, the press release was later removed, and Adult Swim's Senior Vice-President, Jason DeMarco, stated that a second season had "not been announced" at that time. Sola Entertainment CEO Joseph Chou clarified that the game's PR staff had inserted the quote about Sola Entertainment "working on" a second season.
**Ninja Kamui** follows Joe Higan, a former ninja who escaped his clan and is hiding from his violent past in rural America with his family. One night, he is ambushed by a team of assassins from his former organization who exact a bloody retribution on Joe and his family for betraying their ancient code. Rising from his seeming "death," Joe re-emerges as his former self—Ninja Kamui—to avenge his family and friends. Kamui is a 21st-century ninja, a shadowy anachronism who pits his ancient skills against high-tech weaponry with brutal finesse. He must face off against trained assassins, combat cyborgs, and rival ninjas to bring down the very clan that made him.

Directed by Sunghoo Park, known for his work on **Jujutsu Kaisen** and **The God of High School**, the series features character designs by Takeshi Okazaki, the artist behind **Afro Samurai** and **Star Wars: Visions**. Produced by E&H Production and Sola Entertainment, the first season premiered on Adult Swim's Toonami programming block on February 10, 2024, and debuted streaming a day later on Max. The anime was the most viewed on both Adult Swim and HBO Max and won "Best Original Anime" at the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards.
A video game prequel titled **Ninja Kamui: Shinobi Origins** was released on May 30, 2024, for the Nintendo Switch. Developed by G.rev and published by Rainmaker Productions, it was later ported to PlayStation 4 on November 13, 2024.
