According to Livedoor News, both games have been pulled from the Japanese My Nintendo Store. The titles reportedly bear strong resemblances to the popular anime and manga franchise One Piece in terms of art style and story elements.
Game Description
Red Fables describes the games as follows:
Navigate through mysterious waters aboard a ship where danger, longing, and secrets pulse with every wave. Meet irresistible pirates, each with their own wild magnetism and hidden scars, and stand by them not just in their adventures... but through the emotional storms they carry within. Through provocative questions, strategic combinations of magical fruits, and intense moments, unlock daring images and endings as fiery as they are unpredictable. Each pirate hides far more than their tattoos and challenging gazes reveal. Can you truly read their deepest desires... and conquer their untamed heart?
Use of AI Content
The report also notes that, according to Steam, Red Fables uses AI-generated content in its other projects. The developer claims to employ AI for:
- Color enhancement
- Lighting
- Character posing
- Final touches with Adobe Suite programs
However, it is unclear if AI was used in the development of the two Pirate Anime Quest games.
Nintendo's Response
When reached for comment, Nintendo replied:
"We have confirmed sales of these items have already been suspended. The items will gradually be hidden from customers."
Nintendo declined to provide reasons or further details about the removal.
