Nintendo Switch 2 Breaks Company Sales Records in First Four Days
Nintendo's latest console, the Nintendo Switch 2, has made an impressive debut, achieving record-breaking global sales numbers within just its first four days on the market.
Highest First-Four-Day Sales for Nintendo Hardware
Nintendo announced on Wednesday that the new Switch 2 has sold over 3.5 million units worldwide in the four days after its June 5 release. This marks the highest global sales total for any Nintendo hardware during its initial four days.
Comparison With Previous Models
The original Nintendo Switch sold 2.74 million units worldwide—but over the span of nearly a month, and launch supplies were limited despite strong demand.
As of March 31, total Switch family sales reached 152.12 million units. This figure includes the Switch, Switch Lite, and Switch OLED models.
Across all its variants, Switch software sales now total 1.391 billion units.
Sales Projections
Nintendo forecasts:
15 million Switch 2 units will be sold in the new fiscal year, ending March 31, 2026.
4.5 million units of the original Switch console are expected to sell in the next year.
