Coca-Cola Japan Launches New Live-Action 'Crayon Shin-chan' Commercials
Coca-Cola Japan's Yakan no Mugicha (Kettle Barley Tea) brand has released the seventh installment in its popular live-action Crayon Shin-chan short series. The new commercial, which debuted on Tuesday, features a talented cast portraying beloved characters from the anime.
Meet the Cast
- Fumiya Takahashi as a 25-year-old Shin-chan (Shinosuke Nohara)
- Taizō Harada as Shin-chan's father, Hiroshi Nohara
- Kumiko Asō as Misae Nohara, Shin-chan's mother
- Mei Hata as Himawari, Shin-chan's younger sister
The Commercial Scene
The ad shows the Nohara family enjoying dinner together on a hot summer evening. While the family dog, Shiro, isn't on screen, his presence is felt through his barking, which adds a lively touch to the commercial.

Behind the Scenes
Following the commercial's release, Coca-Cola Japan shared behind-the-scenes footage and cast interviews on their YouTube channel. The cast was surprised by how accurately the set resembled the anime, especially details like the color scheme and the living room window.
Taizō Harada recalled a funny moment when Hata asked Takahashi if he would show his butt in a full live-action series — to which Takahashi humorously agreed.
