New Silent Hill Film Announced for 2026

Director Christophe Gans is behind a new live-action Silent Hill film featuring actors Jeremy Irvine and Hannah Emily Anderson.

The film is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on January 23, 2026.
Filming began in April 2023.
The story follows Irvine’s character, James, who returns to Silent Hill after receiving a mysterious letter, searching for his lost love played by Anderson.
As he navigates the town’s transformation by evil forces, he encounters terrifying figures.

Christophe Gans, known for directing the 2006 Silent Hill film, confirmed in a 2020 interview that he’s working on a new installment.
The project is produced by Victor Hadida, who previously worked on the Resident Evil films.
Composer Akira Yamaoka, famous for the series’ music, is also involved.
The film is co-financed by Ashland Hill Media Finance.

Gans described the new film as having the 'small American town' atmosphere, emphasizing themes of puritanism.
Konami, the creator of the Silent Hill franchise, announced the Return to Silent Hill film in October 2022.
The franchise began in 1999 and has seen multiple movie adaptations, including the 2006 live-action film and Silent Hill: Revelation in 2012.
Recently, Konami teased a new Silent Hill remake developed in partnership with Polish studio Bloober Team.

Silent Hill 2 Remake was released in October 2024 for PlayStation 5 and PC.
Silent Hill f is set to launch on September 25 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
