Sunrise Announces Sequel to 'Yoroiden Samurai Troopers'

During an anniversary screening of the Yoroiden Samurai Troopers anime at Shinjuku Piccadilly, Sunrise revealed plans for a new sequel titled Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers. The announcement was accompanied by a teaser trailer and visual:

Plot Overview

Set in present-day Shinjuku, the story follows five boys who wear Yoroi Gear samurai armor to battle the demon emperor Arago.

Background of the Original Series

The original Yoroiden Samurai Troopers aired in 1988-1989, later known outside Japan as Ronin Warriors on Cartoon Network.
The series has been released on DVD by Bandai Entertainment and Discotek Media, including full series with English subtitles in 2015.
Discotek also produced an OVA series with both English and Japanese audio.
Currently, the series is available for streaming on Crunchyroll.
