New Trailer and Details for Chinmoku no Kantai Live-Action Film
Exciting news for fans of The Silent Service! The staff behind the live-action adaptation of Kaiji Kawaguchi's manga has released a new full trailer, giving fans a glimpse of the upcoming film.

The movie is set to open in theaters on September 26.

Plot Overview
The story follows Shiro Kaieda, who is appointed captain of Japan's first nuclear submarine, secretly built with the U.S. The plot explores themes of nuclear war, international politics, and the quest for world peace, especially as Kaieda and his crew go rogue.

The live-action sequel titled Chinmoku no Kantai Season 1: Tokyowan Daikaisen premiered on Amazon Prime in February 2024.
The series features unreleased scenes from the film and continues the story in episodes 5-8.
The manga, serialized by Kawaguchi in Kodansha's Morning magazine from 1988 to 1996, inspired a 1996 anime special and a two-part OVA in 1997-1998.
