Live-Action Series and Film for Smells Like Green Spirit Announced
The manga Smells Like Green Spirit, created by Saburō Nagai, is coming to the small screen with a live-action adaptation that premiered on September 19. Recently, the show's staff revealed a new trailer and announced the release date for the upcoming film version.

Series and Film Creators
Directed by Ikuko Sawada and scripted by Yūka Arai, both are returning for the film adaptation. The show stars Towa Araki as Futoshi Mishima, with supporting roles played by Shunta Sono (Makoto Kirino) and Kodai Fujimoto (Tarō Yumeno).
About the Story
Set in a quiet rural town during the Heisei era, the manga centers on Futoshi Mishima, who faces bullying and teasing for "looking gay." To cope, Mishima secretly wears lipstick and cross-dresses. The story unfolds when he notices Kirino, the leader of his bullies, trying to apply lipstick on a school rooftop—an item Mishima had lost.
