J Balvin Joins Solo Leveling Anime for Season 2
Crunchyroll made headlines on Wednesday with the exciting announcement that Grammy-nominated Colombian singer J Balvin will be part of the English and Spanish dub casts for Solo Leveling Season 2 -Arise from the Shadow-. Although the specific character he will voice remains under wraps, it has been noted that his role is deemed important.

Background of Solo Leveling
The anime, based on the webcomic created by Chugong and the late artist DUBU (REDICE Studio), debuted in Japan last January. Crunchyroll expanded its offerings with the English dub around the same time.
Crunchyroll’s Description of the Story
The series is directed by Shunsuke Nakashige and features Noboru Kimura as the head writer. The character designs come from Tomoko Sudo, with music composed by Sawano.
Originally launched on WEBTOON in March 2018, the webcomic concluded in December 2021. It is published in English by Yen Press, and several digital platforms release both the web novel and webcomic. In Japan, it is known as Ore Dake Level-Up na Ken (I'm the Only One Who Has Leveled Up).
Upcoming Adaptations
An exciting development is the upcoming Korean live-action adaptation of the series. Additionally, Daul released the ongoing sequel web novel Solo Leveling: Ragnarok on Kakao Page in April 2023, with Tapas beginning its English release in January 2024. A webcomic adaptation of the sequel launched on Kakao Page on August 1, 2023, with English publication on Tapas starting November 11.
