The much-anticipated film, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, has made a significant impact at the box office since its release. Debuting at #1 in the U.S., the film raked in $60.1 million during its opening weekend and brought in $25.4 million on its first day alone. Within just eight days, it's reported that Sonic's latest adventure surpassed the impressive $100 million mark in North America!
Globally, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 has achieved a remarkable milestone, earning over $420 million, making it the highest-grossing film in the franchise's history. This figure comfortably eclipses the previous record held by Sonic the Hedgehog 2, which garnered around $405 million. A substantial portion of Sonic's success comes from international locations, with nearly $203.5 million of its earnings generated outside the U.S. The film opened in Japan recently and made 69,510,290 yen (around $440,333) within its first three days!
This installment also features exciting talent additions! Keanu Reeves joins the cast as Shadow the Hedgehog, while Jim Carrey returns as the iconic Dr. Robotnik.
