About the Original Manga and Anime
Space Adventure Cobra was created by Buichi Terasawa, who published the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1978 to 1984. The story follows Cobra, a man with a gun in his left arm, on the run from authorities and villains due to his mysterious past.
The manga was adapted into a 31-episode anime series and a movie in 1982. The movie, Space Adventure Cobra - The Movie, premiered in July 1982, shortly before the TV series.
In recent years, Terasawa launched a sequel manga, Cobra: Over the Rainbow, in 2019. Sadly, the creator passed away in September 2023.
