About the Series
Story Overview
Ryo is excited to be reincarnated into a fantasy world called Phi, believing he’ll enjoy a peaceful life learning water magic. But soon, he faces dangerous monsters and wild lands. Despite the chaos, Ryo’s optimistic nature, cleverness, and a hidden trait called Eternal Youth help him survive and grow stronger. His journey takes him to the forefront of history, changing everything.
The Water Magician is a story of adventure, magic, and a water mage who prefers to do things at his own pace.
Origin and Publication
- Serialization: Started on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in April 2020.
- Print Release: Published by TO Books from March 2021, with illustrations by Nokito.
- Manga Adaptations: Launched by Bokutengō on the TO Books Comic Corona website in September 2021. Another manga for children by Taku is available under TO Junior Bunko.
English Release
J-Novel Club is releasing both the novels and manga in English, describing the storyline as:
Ryo is delighted to start his new life in Phi, but instead finds himself fighting for survival against deadly monsters. With his innate optimism and the Eternal Youth trait, he quickly rises in power. His journey leads him to become the strongest water magician ever, doing everything his own way.
Kubō began serializing the story on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in April 2020, and the series continues to grow. The print version started in March 2021.
