Exciting Update for Street Fighter 6: New Features and Characters
Capcom unveiled a fresh trailer on Tuesday, showcasing exciting new content for Street Fighter 6. The update brings a host of new features across different game modes, along with the debut of a legendary fighter.
What's New in the Update?
- World Tour Mode: New master NPCs and missions to explore.
- Battle Hub: New moves, emotes, and special events.
- Fighting Ground: A new Arcade story, Combo Trials, and customization options.
Meet Sagat: The Newest Fighter
Sagat is the first character announced for the game's Year 3 Character Pass. Fans can look forward to his arrival, with other characters following:
- C. Viper: Debuts this fall.
- Alex: Arrives in early spring 2026.
- Ingrid: Joins in late spring 2026.
In case you missed it, M. Bison was the first to kick off Year 2, debuting in June 2024. The game has also welcomed crossover characters like Terry Bogard, Mai Shiranui, and Elena from the Fatal Fury series.
Game Launch and Platforms
Street Fighter 6 originally launched in June 2023 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. It was later released on Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, 2025, along with the Years 1-2 Fighters Edition and compatible amiibo.
New Features and Returning Characters
- Real-time commentary: Features voices from well-known fighting game commentators like Zelina Vega, Vicious, Aru, Kōsuke Hiraiwa, and Demon Kakka. Subtitles are available in 13 languages.
- Roster: Includes fan favorites like Ryu, Chun-li, Luke, and newcomers like Jamie, a breakdancing kickboxer.
- DLC Characters: The first wave features Rashid, A.K.I., Ed, and Akuma. Players can buy characters individually or get the full season pass.
