Sagat Joins Street Fighter 6 as Part of Year 3 Character Pass
CAPCOM announced exciting news during its CAPCOM Spotlight stream on Thursday: the legendary Sagat will return as a DLC character for Street Fighter 6 on August 5. He is the first character in the game's Year 3 Character Pass.
In addition to Sagat, fans can look forward to the debut of C. Viper this fall, Alex in early spring 2026, and Ingrid in late spring 2026.
Recent Updates and New Characters
Elena was added to the roster on June 5, as the fourth character in the Year 2 Character Pass. The Street Fighter 6 Years 1-2 Fighters Edition was also released on the same day.
The game originally launched in June 2023 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. It also became available on Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, coinciding with the console's release.
Past and Present DLC Characters
The first character in the Year 2 Character Pass was M. Bison, debuting in June 2024.
Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury joined the game on September 24, as the second character.
Mai Shiranui, also from Fatal Fury, was added on February 5.
Game Features and Community Engagement
The game features real-time commentary from well-known fighting game commentators, with subtitles available in 13 languages. Commentators include Thea Trinidad (Zelina Vega), Vicious, Aru, Kōsuke Hiraiwa, and Demon Kakka (formerly Demon Kogure).
The launch roster includes returning favorites like Ryu, Chun-Li, and Luke, along with new characters such as Jamie, a breakdancing kickboxer.
The initial DLC lineup features characters like Rashid, A.K.I., Ed, and Akuma. Players can buy characters individually or as part of a season pass.
