Street Fighter 6 Trailer Unveils Epic Sagat Highlights

Sagat Joins as First Character in Year 3 of Street Fighter 6
CAPCOM revealed an exciting new trailer for Street Fighter 6 on Tuesday, showcasing the return of the iconic fighter Sagat. Fans can look forward to playing as Sagat starting August 5.
What's New in Year 3?
Sagat is the first character announced for the game's Year 3 Character Pass. Alongside him, several other fighters are set to debut:
- C. Viper this fall
- Alex in early spring 2026
- Ingrid in late spring 2026
The journey began with M. Bison, the first character in Year 2, who was released in June 2024. Following him, CAPCOM added:
- Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury on September 24
- Mai Shiranui in February
- Elena on June 5
Game Launch and Platforms
Street Fighter 6 launched in June 2023 for:
- PlayStation 4 and 5
- Xbox Series X|S
- PC via Steam
Additionally, the game was released on Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, coinciding with the console's launch. The Street Fighter 6 Years 1-2 Fighters Edition was also released on the same day.
New Features and Returning Characters
One of the highlights is the real-time commentary feature, featuring voices from well-known fighting game commentators like Thea Trinidad (Zelina Vega), Vicious, Aru, Kōsuke Hiraiwa, and Demon Kakka (formerly Demon Kogure). This feature includes subtitles in 13 languages.
Returning characters include:
- Ryu
- Chun-li
- Luke (the final DLC character for Street Fighter V)
New to the franchise is Jamie, a breakdancing kickboxer. The initial roster also features characters like Manon, Kimberly, Marisa, Lily, JP, Juri, Dee Jay, Cammy, E. Honda, Blanka, Guile, Ken, Zangief, and Dhalsim.
Upcoming DLC Characters
The first wave of DLC will introduce:
- Rashid (returning)
- A.K.I. (new)
- Ed (returning)
- Akuma (returning)
Players can choose to buy characters individually or opt for the season pass.
