New Cast Announced for Sword of the Demon Hunter Bakumatsu Arc
The official website for the upcoming Sword of the Demon Hunter anime has revealed exciting new details about the series' Bakumatsu arc, which will start with episode 14. The announcement includes new character voices, theme songs, and a striking visual for this pivotal part of the story.
Meet the New Characters

- Tsurauchi, voiced by Kenichirō Matsuda
- Kiichi Okada, voiced by Kazuya Nakai

Series Premiere and Streaming
The Bakumatsu arc begins airing on July 14. The anime originally premiered with a special one-hour episode on March 3 on Tokyo MX, followed by broadcasts on BS Fuji and MBS. From April 7, new episodes aired weekly on Tokyo MX at midnight JST, with subsequent broadcasts on MBS and BS Fuji.
HIDIVE is streaming the series, starting March 31 with a one-hour special episode, with episodes available every Monday at 11:00 a.m. EDT.
Series Background
Based on Moto'o Nakanishi's novel series, Sword of the Demon Hunter follows Jinta, a young swordsman who must confront a demon threatening his village and uncover shocking truths across different eras. The series' manga adaptation by Yu Satomi is also available, published by Futabasha in Monthly Action magazine.
