The Series Conclusion
Both author Takaya Kagami and the publisher Fujimi Fantasia Bunko announced that this volume is not only the final chapter of the sequel, but the conclusion of the entire Legend of the Legendary Heroes franchise.
The previous (17th) volume, released back in 2018, confirmed that the next book would wrap up the story.
A Look Back at the Series
- The sequel series started in 2007, after the original Densetsu no Yūsha no Densetsu ( The Legend of the Legendary Heroes) light novel series ran for 11 volumes from 2002 to 2006.
- Takaya Kagami also wrote:
- The 11-volume short story collection Toriaezu Densetsu no Yūsha no Densetsu (2002–2007)
- The 8-volume spinoff Shin Denyūden: Kakumei-hen - Ochita Kuroi Yūsha no Densetsu (2007–2013)
- Saori Toyota provided illustrations for these novels.
Anime and Manga Adaptations
- In 2010, the novels inspired an anime adaptation that covered the original novel series.
- Funimation licensed the series, streaming it during its Japanese broadcast and later releasing it on Blu-ray and DVD in 2012.
Funimation describes the anime:
Ryner is not your typical soldier. Cursed with a mysterious, deadly power—the Alpha Stigma—he has been called a monster his entire life. His partner Ferris is a fearsome warrior with a sharp mind. Together, they search for mystical Hero Relics to help their king restore hope to a politically corrupt country. As alliances shift and danger lurks, one wrong move could spark a war.
