Final Volume of The Misfit of Demon King Academy Series Set to Release

Volume 17 of The Misfit of Demon King Academy: History's Strongest Demon King Reincarnates and Goes to School with His Descendants is scheduled to ship on August 8. This marks a significant milestone as the story enters its final arc.

About the Series

The light novel series, written by Shu and illustrated by Yoshinori Shizuma, is published by Kadokawa. The story follows Anoth, a demon king who reincarnates seeking a peaceful life, only to find himself in a world where magic is fading, and no one can truly gauge his power.

Story Highlights:

The series began as a novel launched on the Shōsetsu ni Narō website in April 2017. Kadokawa publishes the novels, and the story has gained a dedicated fanbase.

Manga and Anime Adaptations

• Manga: Launched in July 2018 on Square Enix's Manga UP! platform, illustrated by Kayaharuka. Unfortunately, the manga was canceled in July 2021 due to the artist's health, and Kayaharuka passed away the same month.
• Anime: The first season premiered in July 2020 with 13 episodes, streaming on Crunchyroll. The second season started in January 2023, but episodes beyond episode 6 were delayed due to COVID-19 impacts. The series resumed in July 2023.
• The second season's second cour (quarter) began airing in April 2024, with Crunchyroll streaming the episodes as they aired.
