Upcoming Anime Series: Nukitashi the Animation
Channels and Broadcast Details
The highly anticipated series, Nukitashi the Animation, has revealed its broadcasting plans. The show will air on several channels, including premium subscription services and local over-the-air stations:
- AT-X
- BS11
- Gifu Broadcasting
- KBS Kyoto
- Mie TV
Additionally, Tokyo MX1, which covers Japan's populous Tokyo Kantō region, will broadcast only the audio portion of the anime. Meanwhile, Tokyo MX2 will air both video and audio, but with some important distinctions.
Different Versions of the Anime
The series will be available in three versions (excluding Tokyo MX1's audio-only broadcast):
- "Seiran Island" Version: The most unregulated, lewd version, available on AT-X and the Blu-ray box.
- Streaming-Only Version: Slightly more restricted lewd content, accessible on various streaming platforms.
- Fully Regulated Version: The version with the most censorship, broadcast on BS11, Gifu Broadcasting, KBS Kyoto, Mie TV, and Tokyo MX2.
As of now, the reason why only the audio is airing on Tokyo MX1 remains unconfirmed.
Fan Reactions and Speculations
Fans quickly responded to the audio-only broadcast, with the official social media post receiving over 70 comments. Some joked that the audio is like a drama CD, while others humorously suggested it might be played over a weather report.
On Japanese forums like Yaraon, opinions varied. Some expressed disinterest in the series or the censored version, while others pondered the nature of Nukitashi the Animation, comparing it to adult anime produced by studios like Pink Pineapple.
About the Series
Nukitashi the Animation adapts the 2018 game Nuki-Gee Mitai na Shima ni Sunderu Hinnyū (Watashi) wa Dō Surya Ii Desuka?, often shortened to Nukitashi. The game was developed by Qruppo and released on Windows via Johren and Steam in June 2023, with a sequel, Nukitashi 2, released in 2019 and later on Steam in February 2024.
A manga adaptation by Mameojitan launched in 2020 through Beaglee's Manga Ōkoku service and later serialized in Ultra Jump magazine by Shueisha in 2021.
