About OutRun
Originally released in 1986, OutRun is a driving game that challenges players to race against a timer to reach the finish line. The game has inspired multiple sequels and spinoffs, with the latest titled OutRun Online Arcade released in 2009.
The series has been widely influential for racing and driving games that followed.
Iconic Soundtrack Inspired Synthwave
OutRun's soundtrack, composed by Hiroshi Kawaguchi, is highly regarded among video game music fans. It served as one of the inspirations for the synthwave genre of electronic music, with "outrun" sometimes used as an alternative name or subgenre within synthwave.
