New Anime Adaptation of 'I'm the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire!' Set to Premiere

The excitement surrounding the upcoming anime adaptation of Yomu Mishima's light novel series, I'm the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire!, continues to grow. On Sunday, the production team unveiled the anime's second full trailer, along with its premiere date and additional cast members.

Release Date and Trailer

The anime is set to debut on April 5, 2024, at 26:00 (effectively April 6 at 2:00 a.m.) in the Animazing programming block on Japan's ABC TV, TV Asahi, and 22 other channels. For fans eager for a sneak peek, check out the trailer below:

Music will play a key role in the series, with the four-member idol group Saishū Mirai Shōjo performing the opening theme Uchū-teki Mystery (Space-Like Mystery) and Nagi Fujisaki singing the ending theme Nantonaku (Somehow).

Storyline Overview

The light novels, published in English by Seven Seas, tell the story of Liam, who, after a life of debt and betrayal, is reborn into an interstellar empire. Determined to be a tyrant, his ambitions lead to unexpected peace and prosperity, making him increasingly popular among his subjects.

Originally serialized on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in August 2018, Overlap began publishing the print versions in July 2020. Seven Seas has also licensed a manga adaptation and spinoff series by Kai Nadashima that is set to expand the universe.
