Nintendo Switch Online Gets Exciting New Features for Switch 2

Nintendo has announced some fresh updates for the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack that are now available, bringing enhanced nostalgia and gameplay options to players.

What's New?

Nintendo shared a trailer on Saturday revealing three new features for the Nintendo 64 – Nintendo Classics:

• Rewind: Allows you to reverse gameplay to revisit previous moments, making it easier to retry difficult sections.
• CRT Filter: Adds a retro, old-school look to games, mimicking the display style of classic CRT monitors.
• Control Mapping: Lets players view and modify control schemes on the fly.

Note: These features are available exclusively on the new Switch 2. The original Switch console currently only supports control mapping.

About the Switch 2

The Switch 2 was officially released last Thursday after Nintendo revealed its details in a system unveiling on January 16. The console launched in multiple countries including the US and Japan.

Nintendo is optimistic about its sales, forecasting to sell 15 million units by the end of the fiscal year (March 31, 2026). In the past fiscal year, they sold over 10.8 million units.
