New High School RPG 'Varlet' Launches August 28 on Switch, PS5, and PC
FuRyu has released an exciting new trailer for Varlet, a high school-themed role-playing game developed by Team Noir. The game is set to launch on August 28 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Game Overview
Set in Kousei Academy, the game introduces players to a futuristic school that uses a cross-reality virtual network called Johari. This network is used for everything from information gathering to social networking. However, it also sparks a dangerous urban legend about users disappearing into mysterious “Glitches,” where monsters are said to replace students in the real world.
The Plot
The protagonist uncovers that this legend is real, and some students have already been replaced by monsters. As a member of Student Support Services (SSS), players must help friends, build relationships, and fight to save the school from this supernatural threat. But beware—getting too close to multiple people might lead to unexpected consequences.

Minori Suzuki also performs the opening theme song "Shiori" as her character Aruka.
Background & Development
FuRyu first teased this project last October, hinting at a new direction after their work on Monark, which was released in Japan in October 2021 for PS4, PS5, and Switch. The game was later launched in Asia and internationally, with the English version arriving in February 2022.
