VTuber Ironmouse Leaves VShojo Amid Allegations of Missing Charity Funds
In a surprising turn of events, Ironmouse, a popular American virtual VTuber, has announced her departure from the agency VShojo, citing serious financial concerns.
Ironmouse's Announcement and Allegations
On Monday, Ironmouse shared an 11-minute video on her YouTube channel, revealing that VShojo owes over US$500,000 to the Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF)—funds raised through her charitable streams. She mentioned that her legal team has advised her not to disclose further details.
"VShojo owes the IDF over US$500,000 in charitable donations," Ironmouse stated.
Background and Motivation
Ironmouse explained her journey into VTubing, driven by her health condition—Common Variable Immune Deficiency (CIVD)—which puts her at risk of illness. She started VTubing as a way to make friends and later signed with VShojo, feeling pressured but grateful for their financial support early on.
Her goal was to raise funds for the IDF through a subathon—a streaming marathon aimed at increasing donations—on Twitch in 2023. The donations were made via Twitch revenue, not through the dedicated fundraising platform Tiltify, which meant the funds had to go through VShojo.
The Fundraising Controversy
Ironmouse successfully held two subathons, raising a total of US$515,000 for the IDF. She requested VShojo to donate these funds, but alleges that as of her video posting, the agency has not transferred the second batch of donations.
Despite her departure, VShojo still listed Ironmouse as a signed talent on their website, although her profile page is no longer accessible.
The Talent Exodus
Following Ironmouse’s announcement, more than half of VShojo’s talents began announcing their departure. Notable names include:
- Kuro Kurenai (who had already planned to leave)
- AmaLee (who joined only in January)
- Kson
- Michi Mochievee
- Projekt Melody (one of the first talents alongside Ironmouse)
- Henya the Genius
- Hime Hajime
Notable Live Departure
Kson made her exit live on stream while discussing her situation with VShojo’s Japan branch head, adding a dramatic touch to the ongoing upheaval.
"As of today I will be terminating my contract with VShojo and returning to being an independent VTuber," Kson announced.
Other talents, such as Geega, Zentraya, and Matara Ken, had already announced their departures in the previous months. Co-founder Phillip “MowtenDoo” Fortunat also left the company in May.

- Henya the Genius confirmed her departure, vowing to continue as an independent.
- Hime Hajime also confirmed she left VShojo.
Broader Impact and Company Status
VShojo’s official social media accounts have removed all talents from their affiliates list, and their merchandise store is currently closed, signaling possible internal turmoil.
