Final Chapter of Kimagure a la Mode
The March issue of Shueisha's Bessatsu Margaret magazine featured the final chapter of Kimagure a la Mode (Whimsical a la Mode) by Wataru Hinekure and Aruko. A compiled book volume of the series is set to be published on March 25. This series of short vignettes revolves around a cozy café, creating a delightful atmosphere for readers.
A Successful Collaboration
Hinekure and Aruko first collaborated on My Love Mix-Up!, which began serialization in Bessatsu Margaret in June 2019 and concluded in June 2022. The ninth compiled volume was published by Shueisha in July 2022, with Viz Media releasing it in North America in October 2023.
Adaptations and Expansions
My Love Mix-Up! has inspired a live-action series that premiered in Japan in October 2021. The series was later streamed in English on Viki in December 2021. Additionally, a Thai live-action adaptation debuted in June 2024.
In a reunion of creative forces, Hinekure and Aruko also released a two-chapter manga titled Uso ka Makoto ka Yume ka Koi (Is This Love a Lie, the Truth, or a Dream?) in October 2022.
The Legacy of My Love Story!!
Aruko and Kazune Kawahara first introduced the original 100-page version of the romantic comedy My Love Story!! in Bessatsu Margaret Sister in October 2011. The series later returned as a serialized work and concluded in July 2016. Viz Media published all 13 volumes in North America.
Anime and Film Adaptations
The My Love Story!! anime adaptation premiered in April 2015, followed by a live-action film in October 2015. Sentai Filmworks released the anime series on home video, complete with an English dub.
