Detective Conan Films Streaming on YouTube
TMS Entertainment announced that it will stream four Detective Conan movies on its YouTube channel as part of the "Detective Conan: Cinema Saturdays" campaign. Each film will be available on consecutive Saturdays at 10:00 p.m. EDT. The lineup includes:
- August 2: Detective Conan: The Raven Chaser
- August 9: Detective Conan: Sunflowers of Inferno
- August 16: Detective Conan: Dimensional Sniper
- August 23: Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet
This initiative follows previous streams of the franchise’s movies, including the 20th, 22nd, and 5th films, which were also broadcasted with new English dubs. Notably, the 20th and 22nd movies are available with a fresh English dub from TMS and Discotek, while Funimation released the fifth movie with an English dub on DVD back in January 2010.
Special Episode Streaming on Crunchyroll and Netflix
Starting July 3, TMS began streaming a curated selection of episodes from the Detective Conan anime (also known as Case Closed) on Crunchyroll and Netflix. The episodes are in Japanese with a new English dub, marking the first time this dub has appeared on Crunchyroll. The initial set, titled "Conan vs. The Black Organization," features episodes centered around the notorious villains, including some that have never been available in the U.S.
U.S. Premiere of Detective Conan: The Black Iron Submarine
During this event, TMS also screened the U.S. premiere of Detective Conan: The Black Iron Submarine (known in Japan as Kurogane no Submarine) at Anime Expo on July 5. This is the 26th film in the franchise.
About Detective Conan
Created by Gōshō Aoyama in 1994, the manga follows Shinichi Kudo, a detective who shrinks into a child after being poisoned. Under the alias Conan Edogawa, he teams up with detective Kogoro Mori and his daughter Ran to solve complex mysteries. The manga has inspired a long-running anime series since 1996 and numerous movies.
The franchise continues to expand with the upcoming Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback, which opened at #1 at the Japanese box office on April 18, 2025. This is the 28th film in the series.
