Kakao Entertainment's long-running webtoon Shark has witnessed a dramatic boost in popularity thanks to its new live-action series adaptation. The series, originally launched in 2016, has already amassed over 190 million cumulative views in Korea.

The surge was noted following the May 15 release of the live-action drama Shark: The Storm. By May 29, the rise in webtoon readership and revenue was officially reported.
About 'Shark: The Storm'
Shark: The Storm is a sequel to the 2021 film Shark: The Beginning. It expands the story into a serialized drama format.
- Main character: Woo-sol Cha (played by Min-seok Kim), trains as a professional MMA fighter after leaving prison.
