Locus Animation Studios Brings 'Tiger Brother' to the Big Screen

What's the story about?

Tiger Brother tells the tale of a ruthless half-man, half-beast named White Eyebrows, who aims to use a child to conquer the world. Amidst chaos, a monstrous tiger named Bbareu and a young warrior named Ga-woo unexpectedly become the child's protectors. Together, they must fight to keep the child—and the world—safe from White Eyebrows' evil plans.

A webtoon with a strong following

Launched in 2015 by creator Sang-kyu Lee, Tiger Brother has enjoyed consistent popularity on Naver Webtoon. The story's engaging plot and compelling characters have captivated many readers over the years.

The studio behind the adaptation

Locus Animation Studios, known for their work on the adult occult animation Exorcism Chronicles: The Beginning, is producing the upcoming film. This project is part of their expanding portfolio, which includes collaborations with Japanese studios and development of new animated content based on popular Naver IPs.

Current status of the film

The film is in its final stages of visual production, including key animation, lighting, rendering, and compositing. The team expects to complete these by the end of this year. Afterward, post-production and marketing efforts will prepare the movie for its theatrical release.

According to Korean trade media outlet Chosun Biz, Locus Animation Studios is working closely with Naver Webtoon's Studio N on this project. This collaboration aims to bring high-quality animation to fans worldwide.

Locus Animation Studios is also venturing into international co-productions, partnering with Japanese studios to develop more animated content based on popular Naver IPs.

Currently, an English version of the Tiger Brother webtoon is not available, but fans worldwide are eagerly awaiting the film adaptation.
