Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair (KYOMAF) Launches Crowdfunding Campaign
Supporters of KYOMAF can now receive exclusive gifts from popular voice actors Nobuhiko Okamoto and Manaka Iwami!
Campaign Details
The Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair announced on Thursday that it will run a crowdfunding campaign from July 10 to September 30. The goal is to raise 4 million yen (approximately US$28,000) to help the event grow and to support emerging creators. The campaign's theme is “Supporting young creators who will shape the future from Kyoto.”

Pledge Tiers and Rewards
KYOMAF has set up several pledge levels:
- 3,000 yen (about US$21): Includes a crowdfunding-exclusive postcard, clear file folder, shareable social media image, and a thank you email. Pledgers will also receive a smartphone wallpaper.
- 30,000 yen (about US$209): All previous rewards plus a commemorative autograph board signed by Nobuhiko Okamoto and Manaka Iwami, KYOMAF tickets, a special ambassador smartphone wallpaper, their names published on the official website, and an exclusive acrylic keychain.
- 35,000 yen (about US$243): All benefits from the 30,000-yen tier plus a ticket to the fair's ending stage event, farewell greetings from the ambassadors, and the same exclusive rewards.
Additional Rewards and Future Plans
While full details of the additional pledge tiers and investor returns are yet to be announced, planned benefits include:
- Autographed boards with thank you messages from Okamoto and Iwami
- Polaroid photos with messages from the ambassadors
- Farewell greetings
- Access to front-row viewing at the opening stage event
- Group photos with the ambassadors
- Kyoto traditional crafts produced by the ambassadors
- Extra KYOMAF tickets
- Merchandise featuring Kyoto’s mascots, Tsukasa Kyono or Moe Uzumasa
- Same-day support events at the main venue
Event Details
KYOMAF 2025 is scheduled for September 20-21 at Miyak Messe/ROHM Theatre Kyoto and the Kyoto International Manga Museum. Tickets will go on sale in mid-July.
