Exciting News: 'Whoever Steals This Book' Anime Film Set for 2026 Debut
Kadokawa announced on Thursday that the upcoming anime film adaptation of Nowaki Fukamidori's fantasy novel Whoever Steals This Book will premiere on December 26, 2026.
The film was previously announced to debut in 2026.

The Story
Yen On, which licensed and released the novel on February 18, describes the plot:
Mifuyu is a high school student living with a vast collection of books left by her great-grandfather—known as Mikura Hall. Although her father manages the library, Mifuyu isn't particularly passionate about books. When several books are stolen, triggering an ancient curse, the town transforms based on the stories within those books. To restore everything, Mifuyu must catch the thief. With the help of a mysterious girl named Mashiro, she embarks on an adventure through different story worlds!

- A manga adaptation by Kakeru Sora was serialized in Kadokawa's Young Ace magazine from December 2021 to March 2023.
