The staff of the popular animated series Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories has announced that a new season is on the way. This will mark the 15th season of the series, set to air on TV Tokyo starting July 13.

Season Details and Cast
The theme for this season is "Remains". Fans can expect stories centered around the lingering presence of spirits and leftover echoes from the past.

Production Team
Akira Funada is returning as the director and producer for the fifth consecutive season, working with ILCA, ILCASHIPS, and LEON STUDIO. The script is handled by Hiromu Kumamoto, Mitsuhiro Sasaki, and Kanako Ishigami, with Yū Ebihara in charge of the opening and ending animations.
Additional production members include Takuya Iwasaki and Norio Yamakawa.

About Yamishibai
Originally, Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories consisted of six-minute horror shorts inspired by kamishibai — a traditional form of illustrated paper theater with roots in the Shōwa era. The series first premiered in July 2013, with the 14th season debuting on January 4, 2024.
Spin-offs and Related Media
