With over 60 categories, the Music Awards Japan honors both Japanese and international artists, including categories for anime, idol culture, and Vocaloid. Entries are selected through an objective data analysis from sources like Billboard Japan, Oricon, GfK/NIQ Japan, and Luminate, with over 5,000 industry professionals voting.
CEIPA, the organizing body, is a collaboration of five key Japanese music industry organizations.
