Final Chapter of Yō, Aquarist Published in September
The September issue of Kadokawa's Shōnen Ace magazine marked the conclusion of the manga Yō, Aquarist (What's Up, Aquarist?), created by Yūya Kurokami and Karuna Kanzaki. The last chapter was released on Saturday, and fans can look forward to the manga's third and final compiled volume, which is set to ship on August 26.

About the Manga
Yō, Aquarist follows Tetsuo, a rugged guy with a kind heart. After a summer festival, he finds two goldfish discarded in plastic water containers. Deciding to free them in a nearby river, he's stopped by Kanade, a beautiful girl who introduces herself as an aquarist. She persuades Tetsuo to keep the goldfish, but caring for them proves to be more challenging than expected.
Background and Release
- The manga was launched by Kurokami and Kanzaki in Shōnen Ace in August 2023.
- Kadokawa published the second volume in November 2024.
Previous Works
Kanzaki and Kurokami are also known for Armed Girl's Machiavellism (Busō Shōjo Machiavellism), which they launched in Shōnen Ace in March 2014 and concluded in June 2022. The series' 13th and final volume was released in August 2022.
Anime Adaptation
The manga inspired an anime that premiered in April 2017. The series was streamed exclusively on Amazon's Anime Strike channel during its airing in Japan. Although Anime Strike shut down in January 2018, Armed Girl's Machiavellism remains available on Amazon Prime and HIDIVE.
