Special Recognition for Nobuo Uematsu
Legendary composer Nobuo Uematsu received the CEDEC AWARDS Special Award for his influential work across various franchises, notably the Final Fantasy series.
"Game music, which has existed since the early days of computer games, is now a major part of entertainment and a highly regarded art form. One of the great contributors to laying this foundation is Nobuo Uematsu. In particular, the theme songs of the 'FINAL FANTASY' series are familiar to many fans as a symbol of the series, and whether they are new or remakes, their melodies are so deeply rooted that they instantly remind you of the game. Uematsu's original composition skills and ability to convey emotions to players through music have been the driving force behind the global recognition of game music."
CEDEC2025 was held from July 22 to July 24 at Pacifico Yokohama North, aiming to honor those who push the boundaries of computer entertainment development.
